Work alongside the artist Em Comfort, the alt art idol also known as Comfhaus to turn a clay creation into a Window Hanger or Plant Guardian. Use materials and design inspiration from Kara Traub, the cult leader also known as Karat Cake. Thousands of beads and dozens of chain and dangle options to choose from. Join us for a fun girl's night with the CHARM BAR of Karat Cake! We will have light snacks, drinks available for purchase in the coffee shop, girly movies playing, + space to lounge in the play and create space (play spaces will be blocked off + not open to children this evening). Kara of Karat Cake will be onsite will her extensive vintage charm collection set up for you to choose from- choose your charms + she'll make it into a piece of jewelry on-site! CHARM BAR: Southern Fried Double Wide Plus Size Clothing Swap, Blue Stallion Brewing
Southern Fried Double Wide is back for round TWO of Lexington's only All Gender Plus Size Clothing Swap & Mutual Aid Mixer! Bring your gently worn plus size clothing and accessories to swap and build community with us on Saturday, January 18th at Blue Stallion Brewing Co.
Here’s a rundown of what the day will look like
11 am - 1:30 pm: DROP OFF! Before the swap starts, hop in a little early and leave your clothing and accessories with one of our event volunteers. Now would be a great time to grab a drink and a bite to eat, then hit up our raffle table.
3 pm -8 pm: CHARM BAR! Karat Cake will be serving it up from noon to 7. Check out their custom charm bar to create a one-of-a-kind piece to go with your new duds
2 pm - 8 pm: SWAP TILL YA DROP! It all officially starts at two! Grab a bag at our welcome table, if you don’t have your own, and swap till ya drop. We’ll have a private dressing room available so you can make sure it’s a good fit.
6 pm - 8 pm: RAFFLE WINNERS! Enter to win one of our amazing prize packages anytime during the event. At 6, we’ll start announcing winners through our @southernfrieddoublewide page so be sure to follow us if you don’t already.
Raffle tickets will include your contact info if you aren’t able to stay for the entire event!
Raffle funds will be donated to Beloved Asheville, an organization dedicated to rehabilitating the lives of those impacted by Hurricane Helene both in and around Asheville.

Karat Cake will be at The Makerspace in Lexington Kentucky on Tuesday, January 14 2024. This free beaded earring class is sponsored and hosted by Jenny Butor and The Lexington Public Library. Class is open to all, 13+. No previous experience required.
